In Loving Memory of Sara
FOR THE LOVE OF SARA
-- No one doesn't Love Sara Lee!
Sara came into our life at 3 years of age. I knew from those big eyes looking up at me, that I knew her from long ago. We rescued her while living in Phoenix, AZ. She left us eighteen months ago at the age of 20-1/2 years. Sara was Love, she was our life. She taught us many things--Love, joy, sadness and grief. She never complained when I would add too many "Herbs" to her food that I prepared. She would just look at me and say "A little too much Mom," so I would add more food to help it taste better! She helped me to learn what worked for her--what herbs and supplements to add--when her kidneys were in danger of failing in the later years. And by a miracle she pulled out of it to live another 5 years! Sara died in my husband's and my arms at our home on 6 December, and she is greatly missed. I told her to come back to me as a little female cocker black & white puppy with freckles--and she did. She must have heard only black and the freckles somehow missed her nose and ended up on her tongue. She is Kharma, born same day as Sara leaving. We rescued Kharma from the Humane Society. Kharma is helping to heal our hearts, though there are many days still when" Waves of Sara" wash over me and my heart breaks all over again. But I only have to look into Kharma's eyes and see our dear Sara there. And how did we find Aly, you may ask? Again it was meant to be. I was looking through Petfinder.com and for some reason I typed in Illinois and there I saw her beautiful cockers and looked at the website and saw, Wow, she is Holistic! My husband and I hope to add another member from her wonderful family. Kharma is now on a Raw diet and loves it. Hopefully she will live as long as our Sara. Rosemary & Gerald Ruidoso, NM |
