A Heavy Heart

There's a sad place in my heart where I must go
When the troubles of the world torture me so.
The things I see, the things I hear
Sometimes I wish I wasn't so near

For the dogs I rescue I do all that I can
But the ones left behind I cannot stand
The dogs in their cages, I see them still
My heart is heavy, with tears my eyes fill.

Help me stay well, help me stay strong
That I may work to right this wrong.
